ABOUT
THE NETWORK
People
ask me why I named it The Borderlands Network. I named it in
honor of Trevor James Constable. His books were being published
by the Borderland press and I felt compelled to call the network
The Borderlands Network, as this best describes the realities
of the unknown. For all it's worth, this was a destined choice
because the call letters "just fit!" TBLN: The
BorderLands Network.
It has been a natural from the get go. So in honor of Trevor
this is the network that brings it all together for all of us.
Five
years ago when I announced The Borderlands Network, cable and
satellite channels were my only choices at the time. It was
a tough one to deal with as there was no way I would have been
able to raise 25 million dollars to lease a channel. The timing
was off and now TBLN has made its way to the forefront of broadband
entertainment.
I
feel there should be more paranormal networks out there just
as there are many major television and cable networks in existence.
The diversity in the manner we present the paranormal is actually
a good thing in the long run.
TBLN
is a vehicle that we can all take turns driving. TBLNs' aim
is to bring forth a newer way of presenting and releasing our
films and documentaries with aggressive campaigns to bring the
paranormal into as many homes worldwide as there are computers
and television sets.
Much like the wide world of sports, we have a wide world of
the paranormal.
I myself always wanted to see a network with this type of programming
for a long long time. No one else would do this! The closest
I have ever seen are The Travel Channel (can you believe it
a travel channel doing UFOs and Ghosts!), Discovery, Sci-Fi
Channel, (and my favorite), The History Channel.
All these have at one time or other presented our type of programming.
In fact, most are featuring more paranormal based programming
because of the huge ratings. This is a trend that cannot be
dismissed.
I want to have more than a small broadband channel that presents
films and documentaries. I want TBLN and our producers, directors
and researchers out there to grow with us. There are many more
films to be made, many expeditions to be covered, and this all
requires funding and the resources required for making these
programs a reality.
This is where I want to see TBLN mature. I have many friends
and associates that all they have ever needed (myself included)
was a budget and they could then present their researches and
studies in a way it is deserved.
I am putting a funding base together for TBLN Original films
and Documentaries. This is going to take some time to put together.
With the resources we have in the name of the Producers and
Directors that are ready to get these projects made, I feel
TBLN can eventually bring these filmmakers the backing they
have always needed.
TBLN is off to a very good start. Since we launched on July
8, 2007 we have had over 138,000 hits on our web site. This
is good news for TBLN and our producers and directors.
We are being recognized worldwide as the first all paranormal
broadband channel to emerge and this is very good news.
I want TBLN to be the hallmark for all that have something to
present to the world as never before. We have the opportunity
to grow together and make more and more films and documentaries
that are needed to be seen by the people of the world.
We are a young new network and we are on the air!
